Hi Cari, I completely support you and I believe in intermittent fasting too. Four days fast is not a small thing. Most of my friends cannot abstain from food even for one day. I had fasted on water last year for 21 day. I broke it with veg juices and salads. Then I started to add some grated pecorino cheese (small amount) to my salads and my feet and face started to swell significantly. I was bloated for a few days or a week. I was worried. I blamed it on sodium. I guess kidneys need more time to adjust to sodium after the fast. I don't know what you mean by not "a lot of sodium", but may be it was enough to create the bloating.
Try to eliminate sodium completely and see what happens. I don't have a better advice.
Good luck and keep trying.
