Yes, but there are different fibers (soluble and insoluble) as well as different properties. Like I don't like psyllium because it tends to cause bloating, there is some concern that it can damage the intestines, and there really is not much in it nutritionally. And wheat bran and some other hard brans are not a good idea for people with diverticulitis or other inflammatory intestinal diseases. So I prefer rice bran and oat bran as my first choices because they are safer insoluble fibers, and provide nutrition, and in the case of rice bran it has the gamma oryzanol, which also has many benefits. FOS is nice because it is not irritating and it has virtually no flavor so it can be easily blended in to various foods or your kefir.
