It may be a complication of my low thyroid thing, made much worse by my job that involves a ridiculous amount of time sitting, but the foot cramping, cold feet, lower limb heavy/dead feeling is still with me about 3 weeks after that long flu bug and increasing my Iodine to 50mg finally (I tried to go 100mg, but still unsure about that dose, as the last time I tried it seemed to throw off my cycle, though could have been coincidence). Actually aside from the leg and foot thing, I feel generally better, so this is driving me nuts because I can't stand or sit still for very long, and even walking is a problem now. feet up with heat is the only thing that seems to provide relief.

This scared me enough to really get my ass in gear with more exercise after being a real lump for a few months leading up to all this starting. I have always been on and off the wagon with exercise, and never have done enough to counter the effects of so much sitting. I work out on the eliptical machine long enough to get really sweaty (for me about a half hour), and my feet are still cold, even wearing socks, shoes and wool legwarmers over the top of sweat pants.
Anyone else have the cold extremities with their thyroid issue? Bigger question - has anyone had it actually get worse after iodine? (and hopefully improve later). I have had the waxy white digits ("Raynaud's") off and on over the past 10 or 15 years. The weird thing is I've only seen it in my hands once in the past year or two, so I thought that was getting better, and I'm stumped as to why I got suddenly so symptomatic after increasing the iodine and coming down with the flu.
After a lot of internet research, I think i've got major blood stagnation in my legs and probably the start of varicrose veins, along with all the spider veins I've had since high school. I'm sure this is at least 50% self induced by not making more breaks from the desk and making sure to get enough exercise every single day, and I'm afraid it may not be reversible. I'm doing cayenne, ginger and hot/cold showers, lots more exercise and lots more breaks, inverting the legs, yoga stretches, hesperidine and some other supps on the way that are supposed to strengthen veins. Vitalzym in case of clotting. Worried I might be looking at a vein procedure in spite of all that.
Just curious if anyone else has the cold extremities thing or has any suggestions.
