I assume you mean corticosteroids. Did you stop using them, as is recommended? And when you did, did the condition return worse? That has been the experience of many on this forum over the past couple years at least.

I agree, it could be a very important clue to the madness. Steroids inhibit inflammatory cytokine production (which is brought on by T-cells), and increase red blood cell production, but the side effects are drying and thinning of the skin, leaving it more fragile, so it seems to me a classic case of winning the battle but losing the war.

People develop a tolerance to them, which is one of the reasons you can't use them on a long-term basis. But they are commonly used for psoriasis (auto-immune hyperkeratinization and inflammation).
