Chest Congestion

I live about a block from the water on the Gulf in an area not having the visible oil on the beaches and inland waterways. I may have an extra senstive nose but I have been smelling a smell like motor oil. I don't know if it a concidence but I also have chest congestion, coughing, excessive mucous, and a general clogged up head.

I have been using my regular alternative allergy treatment methods that have prevented me from having allergies for the last six years but it is not working at all after three days.

I changed strategies. I oil pulled and also switched to Lugol's Iodine today, 5 drops, 3 times now. The cough is slightly diminished but if I could create even more mucous, I believe I am doing more of that now.

Is there anyone out there who has heard of or tried out any alternative methods for treating the effects of the potentially poisonous effects of breathing in or injesting the toxins being released in the Gulf, from the oil gusher at this time?
