Thanks guys for the responses. Mendomaid, it could have easily been a muscle spasming. My right arm, tricep I believe, was also spasming that night as well. The thumpping stopped the next day and I had no other symptoms so all is well for now.

When I go through another flush I will definitely be using more Epsom Salts . I found that in cold water they are much easier to down.
