Re: Parabens: just how terrible they are?

 Okay, I've heard all the fuss and stuff about parabens. But the question is: just how risky or terrible are they? Are they as bad as many claim them to be?

I think the jury is still out. Studies claim that they are not carcnogenic, but they do stimulate estrogen receptors, which means they likely do contribute to cancer. Here is an interesting article on them:

Wouldn't dimethicone or some of the worse offenders be worth paying more attention to?

Dimethicone is a silicone polymer and is not that dangerous. But there are plenty of chemicals in cosmetics in particular that I prefer to avoid such as quaternium and even dyes. When I look for shampoos for example I to find the "cleanest" ones I can find.
