I would just like to add that we are also being abused by the health care industry in that when we do really have a medical problem, it is often ignored or played down so that they can medicate the symptoms without ever curing the problem.
The "farce of medical research" is also abusive, because they spend all that donated money doing research that never finds any CURES, and never eliminates any CAUSES of disease.
