The truth versus a 6 million death propaganda albatross

OK, first of all I will grant you that there are some posters here who may be anti-semite the same as there are anti-semites in the general population.  However, I would also propose that much of what is perceived as anti-semitism is really anti-Zionism.  I will also grant you that there were some monstrous people among the Nazis, especially among the SS, and that there were murders, torture, depravity and inhumane medical experiments.  Some people are just twisted and war can twist people to the extreme (look at our own atrocities in Vietnam, for example, or the atrocities committed on both sides in our Civil War).

Nevertheless, the figures that have been used and which have even been codified into law are grossly exaggerated and common sense alone should tell us that being Nazi did not somehow automatically turn someone into a cruel monster any more than being an American or Brit magically made someone moral and upright.  Most of those in both sides who were involved in the war came from regular citizens who were no more demonic or criminal in one country than they were in others, however crual and evil some of the leaders may have been.

As the enemies, Nazis were demonized before, during and after the war - especially after the war.  Much of the post-war demonization was done to help justify some of the extreme acts by the allies, such as the horrific bombing of Dresden.  Even moreso, however, the demonization of Nazis and the myth of 6 million Jewish deaths was used to generate sympathy, money and influence for the Jews including the establishment and support of a Jewish homeland at the expense of the Palestinians.

Speaking as someone who is not an anti-semite, but who is decidedly anti-Zionist, I do not wish to see the huge 6 million death albatross tied around my neck or my country's neck to justify support of a radical group who would set turn the entire world into an oppressive Zionist state on one side and a Gaza strip on the other side for the "goyim" who remain alive on the other.
