This is part of an email from Stephen Fisher, the missionary who started me on the quest to discover consumable nascent iodine, from the Cayce suggestion in 1931. He has request to build schools, clinics, and worship centers in his part of Zambia. They don't seem to have deaths from malaria at their clinic. Most of the email and his address can be found on my site. Stephen will write about the Iodine use before he returns to Zambia next week.

we had a visit from the people from Chief Chipapo's area now known and referred to as Lukonga Mission. They told us they have a large number of children and they need us to build a temporary school so they can be educated.they already have 170 children that have registered and 74 are in grade 1. We had a long discussion and decided to help them and we arranged for them to put up a temporary structure and then we will put the roof on. They agreed to use their own community teachers that have done grade 11 and 12, and they will help pay for their for their work as I said I will not pay them, they agreed! As it is the responsible of the community to provide for them. We then agreed to help them with clothes, soap and a few of their daily needs etc. They then said you just tell us how you want the structure built and we will do it for you. I have to date 48 years experience of working in Africa and I thought, yeah yeah! I'll end up redoing it for you. Well to my surprise two weeks later when I was very busy they arrived and said the structure is there and ready for the roof. I had not discussed it extensively with them except the length of the roof sheets. and if the building is not straight It just will not work! and then the roof sheets will be stolen and I have waisted my time and money. But since I had agreed I again offered them Grace, loaded up 37 roof sheets and went over with two of my men and tools to make changes if necessary so I could put the roof on. If it is not straight it wont work either. I checked it out and measured it,45 ft. long and it was straight to my surprise and amazement the roof fit nice too. Wow My God is a good God and this Tribe has their heads screwed on right Praise The Lord! They then started school and with 4 teachers had 74 in grade one and up to grade 4. When two weeks later they again arrived and said we need twice the room for we now have 130 in grade one and more then 300 in school at present. They asked if we could give them another 2 class rooms and 2 more teachers. As the teachers are in the cla ss rooms from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm. They can not tech all the students in the morning so they do half in the morning and the rest in the afternoon. They seem to be determined to make the system work, Praise The Lord!! With this caliber and this mentality we can forshure take the ball and run So again Fri. before we left on Mon. July 26 We went and put the roof on the second building. They had also asked for more mobile clinic visits, So we asked for two people to come and train so that they can run there own clinics. We will train, feed and house them but we will not pay them. Their community will have to provide for them, they agreed and sent 2 ladies English speaking, and they are learning well and getting good exposure too. Ruth has had 24 inpatients and as many as 60 patients in one day. and is now turning 73 on the 16th Sept. So we could use some help! We are also adding more wards to our hospital to accommodate the population in our area. Now as we return we will also have a lady that is coming to train so Ruth will have more help. However these precious Lady's do need some help as the one is a mother of 2 children and divorced, the other is a mother of 5 whose husband is the coordinator for this project, and the 3rd lady is a widow and age 32 and has 3 children all these children are in school and they need help to provide for the children. But we are still so amazed with these people as they are so willing and help and they want to see their area develop so they can live a better life. They asked if we could also help them with a hammer mill so they do not have to ride their bicycle 3 hours to grind their weekly food,,,they are at present hand digging a well so they can have water for the school. Later they will need to have a well dug with a rig, but for now this will do as this is better then carrying it from the river.
