Benzene Detox (revisited)

There were some good benzene detoxification ideas that got buried in this forum so I thought I would go mining and put them out on display for those who need these resources.

Feel free to add more suggestions in this thread and freely discuss.

In general I would recommend a thorough cleansing regimen for the liver, gall bladder, colon, kidneys, blood, etc., heavy use of digestive enzymes three times a day on an empty stomach, niacin, chelators, etc. and measures to make sure that the liver is at optimum health and the bile ducts free and flowing. Actually, benzene detox looks like a good subject for investigation and a new article. I'll try to put something together soon. I am in the middle of a number of projects and responses to people, but I know that time is important.

Also need to get the intenstinal soil maximized so cultured vegetables and Soil based organisms should be utilized.

I also think zeolite is a powerful way to help chelate from the inside out.

The power house is using lemon juice(citric acid)which is a well known benzene binder and along with niacin, phosphate and vitamin c (natural preferred). About 12 large lemons per one gallon of hungry water (distilled).

Chlorella helps mop up benzene as well.

For minerals, boron, zinc, manganese, and silver will help detox. Best would be colloidal and use sublingually and orally.

I had a friend die long before I knew any of this. Her apartment was next to a leaking underground gasoline tank at a service station. She died of intestinal cancer. She went the mainstream way(chemo etc). They found out after people had problems that there was a leak. Other tenants had health problems ranging from irritable bowel to leukemia.

People need to take exposure to benzene seriously and follow up.

You'll likely do this but look into the specific pathways of detox in the liver and then you can also see how to ramp up those pathways with specific nutrients.

In the case of benzene and related compounds it's biotransformation is done in two phases Oxidation is the first phase (phase one). Sulfation (sulfate conjugation)is the second phase (phase 2).

To support this phase naturally, one can turn to the following...


bean sprouts
beans of all types
*broccoli
brussel sprouts
cabbage
cauliflower
collard greens
lentils
onions
peas
radishes
rutabaga
*sauerkraut
split peas
turnip greens
turnips

Phenolic compounds and foods should be avoided during a benzene detox as to not over tax these pathways to get maximum effect.

Sometimes (methinks) we SERIOUSLY underestimate (or forget about) activated charcoal. The greatest benefit is that it aDsorbs (pulls to itself), and it will pull out of the bloodstream THROUGH the intestines to itself. Hence the benzene goes directly into the charcoal we ingest, then down the toilet with no stress to organs of neutralization/elimination.

Sure, there are some that believe it adsorbs nutrients, but there been at least one study done (on sheep, not humans...from this book:

However (as I understand it), charcoal does adsorb some 'nutrients' in their unnatural/isolated form. But even if it does adsorb a few nutrients, that's nothing compared to safely getting out the benzene!

Apparently (from the Google search above) they sometimes use activated charcoal to determine benzene levels (start with pure activated charcoal, expose it to benzene, then test the benzene levels in the charcoal). SO, it would great for people to have bowls of it sitting around their house, too :)

Edit - as far as cost is concerned, it doesn't get much cheaper than activated charcoal! Here's one of the cheapest sources I've found (and they sell in bulk) - Activated Charcoal Powder
