Fibromyalgia Protocol?

I have several friends who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia - this covers a lot of symptoms, but the ones in particular that I would appreciate suggestions on would be:  fatigue; sleep deprivation; skin hypersensitivity; and extreme joint/spinal discomfort. 

One of my friends is a long-time educator in her mid-50's and is in a very active work environment that requires bending, lifting, and a high level of stress.  She is currently taking Cimbalta and some type of prescribed sleep aid.  She says that the Cimbalta does little in the way of addressing the symptoms, and she hates relying upon prescribed sleeping medication.  She has also been prescribed additional Vit. D supplementation.  Aside from that, I don't know of any other supplements, herbal protocols, or allopathic medications.

I was misdiagnosed with RA after 2 bouts of MRSA - I feel my immune system was shot due to 3 months of powerful antibiotics, and the protocol that I did was a trial balloon, so to speak, and the protocol that I did for 6 months addressed RA, specifically.  Since I have no understanding of fibromyalgia's symptoms, I can only commiserate and make random suggestions.  I would like to hear from CZ members who are successfully managing fibromyalgia, and what their personal protocols might be.  Okay, here was what I suggested:

• cut out refined sugars & diet drinks of all kinds
• reduce intake of processed meats, especially deli meats, red meats, and chicken purchased in grocery stores
• increase fluids - specifically water, green tea, and cranberry juices
• 4000mg of Rose Hips daily
• 600mg of Glucosamine daily
• Colloidal Siver at 1 teaspoon in water, daily 
• check for iodine deficiency with painted patch of tincture of iodine on inside wrist and watch for rapid absorption - consider iodine supplementation if there's rapid absorption

I would appreciate a sound, reasonable protocol to address the symptoms described so that I can pass this on to her - she doesn't seem to have the time (or, possibly, the inclination) to research this on her own.  I completely understand, as she's becoming very depressed (despite Cimbalta bullsh*t) and is almost resigned to living with, and dying in excruciating pain.  If I can pass along sound information and suggestions, she can either take this ugly bull by the horns, or not.  I'm hoping that she'll take the initiative and do something to help herself.  I remember how terrified I was when I was misdiagnosed with RA, and I can understand the defeatist attitude.
