Mental calmness and clarity is often said to be the most important thing to have in an outdoor survival situation. Apply that to your situation. Do not panic, keep a positive perspective, keep a sense of humor about it all.

It's no one's business that you are homeless. Telling anyone will make yourself a target on many levels. Don't tell anyone that you are homeless and if they ask tell them it's none of their damn business where you live. Do you know where everyone at work lives? Probably not. Do you know their financial secrets? Probably not. At the same time never be ashamed of where you live. Those who kick others down for living in less expensive "homes" must also kiss the asses of those who live in more expensive homes - see how that works?

Don't let your debt intimidate/depress you. Credit scores and debt is a game of slavery that you probably got caught up in, likley because someone of "authority" or "profession" convinced you to take their money with hopes of enslaving your future - these are experts who wanted you to be trapped in a never ending cycle of interest payments with a principal that you could never pay off. Consider filing for bankruptcy - it's not as bad as you think. Avoid those credit repair scams.

SIMPLIFY. Now would be a good time to get rid of the material possessions in your life - they own you and cost you and you can sell some of them for money. Keep emergency cash stashed and hidden away on your body where it won't be stolen or lost (not the purse/wallet).

I think everyone should spend at least a year being homeless. It puts things in perspective, aligns priorities, gets rid of the superficial and shallow people and activities from one's life, and strengthens one's beliefs - IF YOU LET IT. So keep that survival mode of keeping positive mental thinking and some day you may just look back on these days as the best learning experience that you ever had.
