grzbear, your posts have been like a breath of fresh air and I agree with much of what you've said.

I, too, think that the Bible was originally intended as a sort of health manual for both physical and spiritual health and that its content was changed and distorted by the POB in the church to suit their ends. I see it as the struggles depicted in scripture being those that happen within a person and heaven and hell potentially within us as well.

On the subject of diet, in the Garden of Eden, they ate herbs and the fruits of plant-bearing trees, this being the ideal diet for humankind. Meat came later, after the Fall, and some believe the church leaders added in meat-eating in the Bible to condone their own liking for it. Life spans shortened drastically after meat-eating began.

Some people think that original sin was sexua| relations between Adam and Eve, which then inflicted the pain of childbearing on womankind. Some believe, too, that originally, in the Garden, Adam and Eve's offspring would have been created without sexua| relations or childbirth, but simply created "out of thin air". Kind of like spontaneous combustion.

Either way, I totally agree that the further away we've gotten from nature, the more problems of poverty, unwanted pregnancies, and disease have befallen us. Birth control as it is used today is also far from nature and creates more problems of its own.

As far as this Abortion Debate , thank you for your comments about hypocrites. When people start constantly calling others hypocrites, a red flag goes up for me. Who on this earth always does exactly what they say will do and whose actions 100% match up to what they say they believe in? Often, what people say about others says more about the speaker than the person the speaker is talking about.

I also wonder about the constant issue over women controlling their bodies. For me, the question isn't about control. The question is "what will be for the greatest good of myself and everyone else involved?" In the case of pregnancy, I'd include the unborn baby in that as well.

I'd never have an abortion because of my belief that the more we go against nature, the more we inflict suffering on ourselves and on our children (if we have any), I think it's for seven generations. Those are my beliefs and others will act according to their beliefs, as they are meant to do.

I agree with what you say, killing is killing, whether it be at the early stages of life (fetus/unborn baby) or after birth. No matter the name, the new life is what it is. Whether it be at 4 weeks - 6 weeks - 8 weeks etc., and there is no end to the debate because no one can prove that this isn't human life.
