So you are saying the vitamin C protocol actually caused insomnia for you? And even some anxiety? In my situation I have entered the vitamin C regime with terrible anxiety and insomnia. That being the case, it sounds like I cannot expect the anxiety to totally go away in the early days of treatment even if bacterial numbers are declining, because the die-off will cause its own anxiety. The same for insomnia by the sound of it. How long until you think I will be able to sleep?

I got 3 hours sleep last night, without a sleeping aid. I want to avoid benzos because I suffer awful withdrawal. I don't need to add to my problems. I have ordered some phenibut.

I have been taking hourly doses of vitamin C. Perhaps you are right in suggesting I take bigger doses less often. I can imagine the upper GI tract will be less abe to absorb big doses than frequent small ones. I agree with your suggestion that it needs to reach the ileum. I will switch to taking it every 2 hours, instead of hourly.

One other thing. You mentioned somewhere that you took 1/4 tsp/hour which was 1g of vitamin C. The powder supplement I'm taking says each tsp weighs 4g, which is consistent with what you say. However in the breakdown, the total vitamin C is only 2.5g, and the total ascorbic acid is only 1.56g. I have been quoting how much vitamin C I have been taking. However Dr Cathcart, on that website you liked to, refers not to vitamin C, but ascorbic acid. So although I took 22.5g of vitamin C yesterday, I only took 14g of ascorbic acid, which is not a particularly high amount according to Cathcart.
