I've found extra sleep very helpful...

...And meditation, and refusing to sweat the small stuff.

In fact, once I started babying my adrenals I found that I just couldn't stress them anymore...and that includes TV, noise, up-tight people, and more. Someone in the family who suffers from 'road rage' doesn't help one bit.

Losing a parent, or any funeral, or having to sort someone's belongings is stressful.

You add any more causes you wish.

I think that constantly 'taking' life stresses, thinking that we 'have to', is a major cause of adrenal fatigue...even watching someone else go through it.

Recognizing stresses, and refusing to take them on, is very therapeutic.
