Most definitely schedule an appointment with your GYN. I'm done with periods now but did, like you, have fibroids. One month I had 2 very heavy periods and was put on hormones. I had yearly ultrasounds that showed the fibroids were still there. Yet my periods weren't as heavy---just erratic.

I'm guessing that in your case, the hormones aren't helping at all with the fibroids. There are other alternatives that you should explore with your GYN.
