>>"I presume you don't think animal proteins (I mean high quality organic proteins) cause cancer?"<<
No - not if they are free range, on organic pastures, and eat the foods they were designed to eat.
Cancer is an industrial disease... caused primarily by the mining, refining, and use of heavy metals, and man made pollutants\chemicals... secondary to that, if food is a reason, the abominable adulteration of it by man.
>>"Ms Gerson and all those herbal / vegan people say so many times that animal proteins cause cancer, but it's actually the factory farmed proteins that we should avoid, is that right?"<<
Yes... avoid them. In todays world, it may be hard to avoid them 100%, same as it is difficult to avoid GMO's due to the increasing contamination of non-GMOs with them, however, do the best you can.
People like Mike Adams of Natural News, and David Wolfe, and others, who have apposed dairy in the past, have finally used their heads and now acknowledge the VAST difference between factory farmed *processed*dairy and organic, pastured, raw dairy.
Dr. Joseph Mercola has known it for a long time - but also always stresses organic free range, pastured, etc... the difference between that and animals fed in concentrated feeding operations is profound. Like the difference between pastured, organic, raw dairy and the commercial processed crapola.
Mike and David, may get there with animal flesh too someday when they acknowledge obligatory omnivores, perhaps recommending safe sources of fish first due to where they are coming from... as they become more familiar, as David Wolfe has recently, that humans are over 6 times more genetically diverse than once thought and their are people, obligatory omnivores, who CAN NOT convert some or all the various plant nutrients, in some, but not all plants, into usable forms for mammals.
A good clean source for liver can be real medicine for people like this. I have a local, free range source for chickens that are out of this world yummy. I turned my mom and dad onto them and they have bought a chicken a week since - they are that much better in every way than even the so called organic free range in the store. I mention that because I get chicken gizzards, hearts and livers from this source.
If YOU are an obligatory omnivore, or believe that you may be, it is vitally important that you use real, raw, and perhaps, cultured butter on, or with, all your vegetables. The animal fat from the butter will help you greatly increase the absorption of nutrients in the plants. This is especially true with greens... In other words it would be great to have with your eggs and vegetables today as mentioned in your other post to me in the depression forum.
Olive oil will work, albeit, to a lessor extent, for an obligatory omnivore, in things like salads - and for other *cold*, raw food uses. Try to avoid heating olive oil to cooking temperatures, it will change the oil.
