Please refresh my memory:

Did you get your antibodies test back? Did you get your free T3 and Free T4 tested? Did you get the RT3 tested? What about your B12?

See if you can get these labs run by the endo and then post them with ranges. To me, it sounds like you're hypo. You could have a conversion problem because of the low ferritin and your T4 is not getting converted to T3 but to RT3 instead.

Endocrinologists are FAMOUS for under treating or not treating thyroid problems. If your TSH and T4 are normal they simply do not know what to do and will tell you that you either have depression or you simply need to eat less and exercise more.

You also may very well have adrenal issues. Very common with dysfunctional thyroid.

Add low ferritin, low D3, low b12 (I'm assuming), poor T4 to T3 conversion, antibodies -- maybe??? and adrenal insufficiency and YOU WILL FEEL LIKE CRAP!!!! You will probably need to find another doctor. Me, I'm on my on my 6th one. My endo wanted to keep me on synthcrap and when I suggested switching to armour or supplementing with otc glandular and iodine, he threatened to fire me. I was on synthcrap for about 2 years. My labs looked great (ie TSH and T4) but I still had underlying issues (low ferritin, b12, T4 conversion that contributed to adrenal fatigue) and I felt like crap.

Just a side note here....my daughter (13) just got over a fairly mild cold a few weeks ago and went back to school after 3 days and the next morning looked like death warmed over. I sent her back to bed and she slept until noon. The next day, she slept 12 hours. She said she just felt tired all the time and she'd come home from school really tired too. I took her to the doctors for blood work. Was not fun for either of us. She tried really hard to lay still and I stroked her head, and she ended up screaming in my ear the whole time. She was anxious over getting the blood work done and that just made it worse. I gave a list of labs to the doctor I wanted to run. I had her thyroid tested with antibodies because hashimotos runs in my side of the family. Her TSH was ok, the doc totally screwed up and didn't test free T3 or free T4. Her ferritin was low (50) as was her iron serum and iron saturation) and her b12 was in the low end of the range (optimal is around 900). Her vitamin D, however was wonderful (99). She was anemic. I pretty much expected as much as she has really heavy periods due to her von willebrands. A week or so before the blood work, I started her on iron supplements (ferrous fumerate 261 mg split in 3 doses), so her iron was probably lower before that. I wasn't supplementing b12, though.

Since getting on the b12 (3,000mcg 2x day Dibencozide w/folic acid) and a multivitamin plus iodoral with the iron, she is starting to bounce back. She even had enough energy to whip our chocolate lab in to a frenzy last night in the family room. The dog was in heaven, her playmate was back.
