so sorry it took this for me to come back to the forum!
but I am fine, thank you, so far, so good.
I was alerted to the high reading in Bakersfield by a friend
who isn't here at the moment, but she has close family
who live not far from where I live. I then googled it and found this vid on youtube about it (there were several

Perhaps some of the wind is headed toward China, but the weather map did show winds heading over CA, down to AZ, and then on up thru NM and on to CO and MT. I too do not think it's good to go into panic mode, but I think it IS good to be informed, since the Japanese govt. seems not to be in a hurry to deliver timely and vital information about what is going on over there...
