Hi- I just had #17 (lower left wisdom tooth site which was pulled in 2005) cleaned on Feb 28th, so it's still healing but minor after effects (just feels slightly sore and like a cut gum from a chip) Yes..the pain in that area has vanished since the cleaning. Dr Jerome does the Hal Huggins method (minimal opening and disinfecting with Iodine and I had him add colloidal silver to the rinse) He said it will take 6 months to a year to heal & re-fill in.Some other dentists may open the gums more and scrape more aggressively.
