First of all, you aren't the only one who experimented like that at a young age. If you do some research, you will read that for yourself.
Second, IMO, it's not necessary to have to tell your SO about every single thing, be it good or bad, that you did in your lifetime. This happened when you were a curious child experimenting with others around your age.
I'm far more concerned to hear that you have treated your girlfriend so poorly to the point that it has affected her self-esteem.
It's good that you realize that what you did to her is wrong and that you feel regret for your actions. You ask what to do now. I urge you to get some counseling. If you don't have health insurance and can't afford counseling, it is available on a sliding fee basis. For starters, look up the local Family Services office in your area. Or you could call the Mental Health Crisis Hotline: 1-800-273-TALK.
