NK cells are mainly antiviral and anti-tumor, but not anti-microbial. Part of the innate immune system that only activates when it gets the signal that there's an infection.

High levels might mean they're chronically engaged, and that your adaptive immune system isn't finishing the job. There may be other interpretations, but that's my first thought.

But they're not involved in reducing Bacterial overgrowths.
