I have used it for about 3 years and am concerned with the journals warning to limit use to a year.What do you think?

I think that is ridiculous.  Everything we consume from food to water is exogenous.  And it does not matter if it is a common food or not.  Many cultures consume spices like turmeric on a regular basis without issues.  And how are they defining "common food"  So if someone moves from one country to another country where the foods are different they should not eat the local food for more than a year?
