PBuddy. It is a fair question. So I will answer it. I don't normally come to this forum. Emotions run very high and very few minds are changed here. But I will give you my take. For what it is worth.....

No PBuddy. Have no children that I know of. But that doesn't matter. There are many things that can bring us to emotions without actually being there or experiencing them. That is just the way it is. Dirt poor people in a third world country can lose everything in a disaster and I can have very strong emotions for them. Even though I have never been dirt poor or lost everything or spent much time in third world countries. Just the way it is. How many people commenting in this forum against vaccinations can tie a vaccination to autism in their child? Probably not many. And yet I don't doubt the resolve and emotions that they feel.

In terms of Spud. Well I disagree with her plenty. On many issues and topics. These debate boards get heated. But I don't believe that she is here as a paid shill or trying to "poison the well". The whole notion is nonsense.

And humans have a veryyyy long history of interpretating the same set of data/circumstances completely differently. Again. Just the way it is.

In terms of my position on vaccinations. Which most people probably couldn't give a rat's ass about hehe...... And that is not a shot at you. But I did venture into the Lion's Den. So it is a valid question I guess.........

I recognize all of the diseases and health "issues" that vaccinations have helped contain. Especially here in the West. I don't buy the notion that some of these things mysteriously dissappeared because of whatever and that vaccinations played no role. They played the leading role. But there was collateral damage. That is very clear. I really liked the Webmasters post on this the other day on his forum. Young people have been completely healthy - gotten shots - and been disabled within hours. There is too much anecdotal evidence for me to discount this. Most kids come out the other end allright. Some don't. So the question remains whether it is worth it......

A lot of these afflictions have been dampened down and controlled here in the West. Mainly because of vaccinations. So I don't like seeing young Americans given numerous shots at a young age. Maybe some. But not all that is recommended. But third world countries?

Kids are dying over there in large numbers due to an outbreak of this or that. So it becomes much more complicated. This may be a case where the potential side effects are way outnumbered by the potential good. There will still be casualties. Just there won't be many, many thousands dead.

And I do look forward to the days ahead where something safer is developed. Until then. We are stuck with what we got. And both "sides" on this issue love to blow smoke. Take it for what it is PBuddy.. That is why I am in the middle........
