MRI for Cavitations

So 3 years ago I had a cavitat scan now which revealed a I had 3 cavitations, one where I had previously had a root canal extracted, and 2 where both my lower wisdom teeth had been extracted. The problem on my left side was huge, went most of the way along my jawbone. Anyway after my surgery my chronic health problems went. I was previously diagnosed with CFS, and the only help i was offered was to talk to other sick people...I was extremely extremely ill.

6 months after having much improved health my health problems started to return. But this time the cavitat and x-ray were all clear. I had surgery again on my left side, and the surgeon found infection again. But still my problems have persisted. With the cavitat and x-ray both clear? What now ? More surgeries to guess where the problem is ? Well anyway I decided to go have an MRI, since its free here on the NHS so why not. I explained them my problem and they took something like 100 images, some were of my neck. Anyway the MRI found the problems were both x-ray and cavitat failed.

I see people often posting about having cavitations, but other than x-ray they have no way of finding them. It seems like MRI can do a good job. The settings that found my problem were
T2 3mm
whatever that means exactly. The T1 5mm scans didn't find anything, perhaps not enough resolution.
