Well the judge and jury is still out on serotonin for me as "the cause" of depression! There are many causes!

I've learned through Dr. Ann Blake Tracy that people who are depressed are not low in serotonin but high in serotonin ... she says they are unable to metabolize it.

I've read where the serotonin connection to depression is a marketing myth and has not been proven. Does anyone take serotonin levels before prescribing these drugs :-)

I've read where some say even if serotonin is low in depressed people that no one knows if low serotonin caused the depression or the depression caused low serotonin.

I've read where the drug companies themselves say the don't know how they work. :-(

Supposedly they work by recycling the serotonin you have but what if you were low in the first place? They don't give you more...that is where tryptophan would be a better choice.

But on another note: All of those shootings, suicides and murders. Well Dr. Tracy says it's because these drugs suppress REM sleep and that if you suppress REM sleep long enough that the user will "act out" their darkest fears while awake and that they are actually in a dream state. That is why most don't remember why or what they did!

Lastly I've read that the drugs turn your brain cells into cork screws shaped cells. I told my doctor (a naturopath) this and he said yes.

To me my gut tells me they work by disconnecting the battery cable to the battery. Get it! If you are in pain, they just rewire or disconnect from that and miraculously your better!

Who knows! I just know you can't trust the FDA, Big Pharma and many doctors.
