Compact fluorescent light bulbs question

Hi all,

With the gradual phasing out of incandescent light bulbs and the pushing of the cfl variety which have the added bonus of mercury I was wondering if anyone could shed more light on the dangers inherant besides the obvious breakage problem with mercury that might be encountered in a moment of carelessness.

The thing that i am suspicious about is that the CFL's operate on a 26.7 khz frequency or thereabouts - is it possible that it could act as a carrier frequency for the resonant frequencies of the contained elemental mercury within the bulb itself and thereby impart the detrimental effects of mercury without any actual physical contact - if this makes any sense ?

I thought I'd post here as many on this forum understand the working of plasma tubes and suchlike and could possibly point me in the right direction re: this question.
