Oh boy I know that one well. Actually all of those symptoms sound like me a while back. It sucks. Really sucks. Because all we need is more stress when trying to heal.

A year ago I could barely do work phone calls. Sometimes I couldn't. A fun face to face monthly work meeting was horrific. Now, they're fun!

It does and can get better. Basically it's a part of your overall fight or flight system being in overdrive, and it'll get better as you get healthier.

As Tricky said meds/supplement should help. It's great quality St John's Wort for me, the equiv of 1800 mg (the European Standard), not the 900 mg often used in North America.

GABA boosters help a lot. Try a L-Theanine or two (depending upon your weight) before you go out.

Eat some low GI food before you go out. Your system reving up will screw with your blood sugar.

Meditation can and does help. I found that telling folks I was nervous really helped too. Also, remember panic attacks only last about 20 minutes Max, so if you can find a way to get through it, it'll get better. And the more you can do that, the better.

Also coming up with a plan can help reduce the pre-engagement jitters.

In the end, when you get your system in order you'll still have to do some work to get your brain rewired back to normal, but it'll come along.

Until then you're better off without meeting ladies etc. Sorry man. I was told the same and didn't listen so well, but I get it now. Until recently I just wasn't able to really enjoy a relationship and that's not fair to your partner.
