Sodium Ascorbate arrived today

Well, my Natscorb (Sodium Ascorbate) arrived today in it's big fat plastic container, and it's basically a fluffy, salt-like powder that cost me an arm and a leg (500 grams for fifty dollars). I've read around and heard say that the buffered sodium ascorbate is best, and I can understand why Ascorbic acid is /said/ to possibly contribute to kidney stones, because it does elevate the amount of water going through the kidneys. I still think it'd rubbish to be on anything less than 500 mg a day though.

Plus there's all that news that vitamin C can help prevent the oxidization damage done by fluctuation blood sugar levels.. That's really important for me, funning around with type 1.

So far I've had what should be equivalent to two grams of the stuff, and I want to follow the reccommendations made for lowering insulin requirements- 5g C, 300 mg Ala (Alpha Liopic acid, might go for R-liopic), and 1400 ie (I think, but I'd have to double-check) of vitamin E.

So far I don't feel much difference, but I have had a head-cold for the past week, so probably have quite the requirements currently. Anyone else have experience with using this stuff?
