Low Functioning GB-Soon to be removed

I started my pain 2 years ago, only having attacks ever so often, not even thinking it would be my GB. I was diagnosed first with IBS with no testing except for a normal CT Scan. I started about 4 months ago hurting a week out of the month, and it has gotten more frequent. For the past 2 months, I have now been having pain every day in my Right Upper Quadrent. A few weeks ago I had to go to the ER because I was hurting so bad, no pain medicines help with the pain. I now am only able to eat Lunch as I get sick after any other meal. For the past month I have been unable to go on my own without help of supositories or miralax. I had a hida scan done, that showed my gallbladder was only functioning at 18%. My G.I. said that I needed to have it taken out, and I have an appointment with the surgeon October 24th. I'm hoping this thing will be out of me by the end of the month. Anyone have any suggestions on removal. Time out of work, what to expect, things like that? Thanks so much in advance. The quality of my life has deminished these past couple of months. I can't go out and do anything because I hurt all of the time. I'm ready to be my normal active self again without pain.
