Re: Steve Jobs holistic attempt to beat cancer

Here is my opinion on things based on what I have read:

I feel it is wrong to blame his death on alternative medicine.  Let's look at a few facts.  First of all he did not start with any type of alternative medicine.  He underwent surgery for the tumor, which clearly failed.  Unfortunately there is a common tactic that when allopathic medicine fails to cure someone's cancer and it progresses to the point where allopathic medicine says it s incurable.  Then the person resorts to alternatives after the cancer has become highly advanced and was already considered terminal.  If the alternatives fail to work at this point the it is claimed they died from the alternative treatment, not the allopathic treatments that failed or the cancer.  This is a simple concept, Jobs did not die from an alternative treatment.  Jobs died of cancer that allopathic medicine failed to treat properly and it came back.

The cancer not only came back, but there is evidence that it had likely spread to the liver.  This resulted in a liver transplant, which in turn meant he was on immune suppressing drugs, which PROMOTE cancer growth.  So again, his allopathic therapies had more to do with his death than any alternative therapy he may have tried.  The immune suppressing drugs can easily explain why a normally very slow growing tumor managed to grow back at such an accelerated rate after being surgically removed in the first place.

So what if viruses end up being shown to play a role in in human endocrine tumors?  That would mean that not only did allopathic medicine fail to address the cause of the cancer, which can contribute to it coming back, but also that they further promoted the cancer again when Jobs was given the immune suppressing drugs.  But wait, there is evidence that viruses may be playing a role in these tumors:

Bottom line is that allopathic medicine failed jobs in the first place by both failing to deal with the cause and by the immune suppressing drugs he was put on.  Even if he had not waited for more mainstream intervention there is no proof that he would have still survived since his cancer was progressing due to the immune suppressants prescribed to him.  Therefore, to blindly blame alternative medicine for his death is deceiving.
