I don't eat Big Macs or anything like that, but it is true that our environment is far more toxic than when that article was written. I'm not sure about high colonics, and no doubt frequent enemas could be problematic, but when one is trying to flush one's body of toxins during a fast, it seems sensible to help the process along with the occasional enema. I administer them to myself and experience no discomfort at all.
