GG - i love when u post, dont try to stay short..it is always very informative.
i have done my best thru all the yrs to make them healthy. we eat fairly well..i mean, not just American's idea of well but when i have family over, they wont eat. LOL! they say we have weird food, eat weird stuff, etc. i buy organic where and when i can..it isn't easy tho..financially or convenience-wise. i understand that it is their health and it is a priority so it isnt that im being lazy but im trying to be balanced. i already go to school, work full time and try to take care of home and im spread pretty thin. im working on improving everything but it is going to be a slow process.
being that i have tried to feed them well for yrs, u would think they loved good food..but my 6 yr old has been picky for the last two yrs and my 3 yr old is catching on to that so he is copying the behavior.
my daughter, the oldest, is pretty much what u describe but she has never been one to let things slide...she will tell me how she is feeling if something hurts physically or she is upset. she happens to be the one with the most health issues too tho..and i believe that having her young (i was 19) may have contributed to that. i was pretty careless. i smoked while i was pregnant (havent in 6 yrs now) and i smoked around her afterwards. i fed her what was easy more often than i should have. she started with migraines at a very young age, wears glasses (altho her right eye has fixed itself and they expect her left eye to do the same in the next couple of yrs). she has benign rolandic spikes, suggestive of benign rolandic seizures...she has lots of growing pains..and she gets fevers quite often. that being said, she never gets very sick. it just seems like a lot of inconveniences rather than a sick kid..i always attributed it to my having her young and not knowing what i was doing. i also thought that since she was a girl (as girls get the thyroid issues and fibro more often than men), she was exhibiting early signs of all my and my mother's issues....i have the physical issues, my mom, the mental (to the point that we do not even talk). Also, my daughter's father and i have not been together since she can remember and i wonder if that affects her enuf to have those kind of symptoms. i was with my boys' father since she was only 1 yr old....she sees her dad, he luvs her and we all have a great relationship but he has his own issues and has never been an adult. i wonder how that affects her. and as long as i can remember, she is extremely sensitive to others' pain. she literally threw up when her brother smashed his fingers in the door. she cries at things i wouldnt expect an 8 yr old to worry about. she is extremely sweet and gorgeous and i luv her to death. i have always felt so guilty about the lack of mothering i gave her but she luvs me anyway. ;)
