New Update

Here is an update to my recent water fasting segment. I was so pleasantly surprised at how I was feeling that I did eventually feel comfortable with setting a ten day goal. I never set a ten day commitment because I always take water fasting one day at a time. I know how fast things can change on a water fast. I was very surprised that I could easily go through the first seven days with little difficulty. I was losing strength, but I was able to putter around and get some things done in slow motion. Day eight was much harder, but I was still able to bear it. When slight body aches came I thought, "Oh no, hell is going to break loose and I am going to be in unbearable pain soon." Much to my surprise the pain seemed to come and leave again in waves never reaching beyond being a slight body ache. I did lose more strength than on previous days and really could not accomplish doing anything much but rest. However, I was able to shower and get dressed. Day nine was pretty much the same as day eight. Then comes day ten. I became so weak that I pretty much had to stay in bed all the time. I did not even dare step in the shower for fear of passing out. I did not even have the strength to sit by my computer, although I had difficulty with this on days eight and nine as well. At one point on day ten I even felt like I was passing out in the bed. I didn't think that was possible. I somehow mustered up enough strength to go squeeze some oranges making orange juice to break the fast. The OJ did not give me a surge of energy. I was just as weak and had to go back to bed without even cleaning up the kitchen. I fell a little short of the ten day goal, but I am happy that I was able to break the seven day barrier. The water fast lasted nine days, eight hours and 20 minutes. I couldn't take it anymore. The day after, which was yesterday, I was still pretty weak, but I did regain some strength with the juices. Today I feel like I have my strength back. :)

I just want to thank you, Jesus, for your strength which strengthens me. Help me to be hungry when you want me to be hungry. By your strength I can do this.
