TMAU and recreational drugs

Hello Beautiful Creatures,

I've spent hours if not days of reading forums and googling key words and I can't seem to find anyone who's gone through the specific TMAU experiences that I have. My symptoms are generally pretty mild, and have really only been noticed by other people a few times, with the exception of drug use. The worst TMAU moments of my life (and trust me they were BAD) have come during parties. Cocaine, mushrooms, and ecstasy, all seem to set off my TMAU with force. As you can imagine parties are an inopportune time to start smelling like rotting fish, especially since I'm always the last person to notice it. Once I spent an entire day listening to my friends make cruel joke after cruel joke (they thought I was asleep) after a particularly bad episode. While it's been difficult for me to come to terms with, its now more apparent than ever that the drugs just aren't worth it.

I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else. I've been doing some research and so far it appears there is a connection between choline and drugs. Choline is a precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine which is activated by cocaine use. Also, the other day reading about neuro-consciousness and apparently this acetylcholine stuff is extremely important to consciousness.

While I am extremely relieved to hear other people's stories, I'm also now worried about things I wouldn't have know to worry about before, like pregnancy and taking birth control. Sometimes I feel like this is all a bad dream...

I would love to hear from you in regards to anything I mentioned above :)

Also, I was traveling abroad a while back and my symptoms went away completely, I finally realized the main thing I was doing different was taking Malarone (a malaria medication) every day. I was wondering if anyone else has taken this drug with the same effcts.
