My opinion is you definitely need the supplement.........

Medicare pays 80% of a hospital bill and you are responsible for the rest.

I do carry a supplemental policy with Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Last month I was in the hospital 4 days and my total bill was $44,000+. My total cost came to $585.00. Without the supplemental I would have been responsible for over $8,000.00.
