I think that most all people would endorse your thoughts on changing/adhering to a healthy diet, including the health-professionals cited in my original post, but the sad truth is, that the vast majority of people are too heavily influenced by the food corporations and fast-food mentality.

On top of this there is strong scientific evidence that even the healthiest of foods are deficient in many nutrients, and for reasons such as nutrient-depleted soils and global transportation of foodstuffs. Supplementation is therefore seen by many as essential for making up the shortfall of a nutrient-deficient diet.

There is also a wealth of scientific information that supports the view that much higher levels of nutrients than currently recommended RDI's are extremely successful at combating/preventing/treating disease, and without the serious adverse side-effects of pharmaceuticals.

Many supplements are not made from inorganic nutrients at all, and the ones that are, tend to chelated to enable them to be bioavailable and of distinct benefit to the body.

I am not sure how you have arrived at the correlation between supplements causing osteoporosis and dental problems.

If you would like to explain further perhaps?
