why do I get edema with potassium foods/supplements?

I discovered I have a need for potassium, when I take supplement or foods high in potassium it relieves a number of symptoms I have and I can not do without it because it helps me with my extreme insomnia.

However!! I get facial edema and stomach bloating and body edema when I take in potassium in any form (not just supplement but foods high in potasssium and also apple cider vinegar). I have cut out potassium supplements and this still occurs from high potassium foods.

I look puffy all over but especially my face and definately not like myself.

Does anyone have any idea why potassium foods and supplements cause this problem?
