I don't want to upset you, or sound offensive, but just make people aware of what is going on.

You, like many other people, believe everything the dentist tells you.

There was a reputable current affairs program on TV where I live, where they had identical twins, who started out with identical teeth. One had the 4 teeth removed, the other didn't. The twins came to the conclusion that removing the 4 teeth was not necessary, and made that twin look worse. They believed the one who did not have the teeth removed looked better. The program left it up to the public to decide for themselves, but questioned whether what dentists were doing was wrong.

On my most recent trip to the dentist, he said I needed additional treatment, and if I did not have this treatment teeth would fall out. I refused the treatment. He then said, he did not know how long it would take for the teeth to fall out, it may be 20 years. A person with no dental problems could have dental problems within 20 years.

When x-rays are safe, the person taking the x-rays will stay in the room with the patient. If the person taking the x-rays stayed in the room with every patient, after many exposures, they would get cancer. Every time you have an x-ray, it increases your likelihood of getting cancer. When you have dental x-rays, your brain is exposed to x-rays, increasing your likelihood of brain cancer.

If a dentist tells you that x-rays are safe. Tell the dentist you want him/her to stay in the room with you while you are having x-rays. They won't, as they know how harmful x-rays are.

Like doctors, not all dentists are bad, but they are part of the system, and they are focused on making money.
