I was on Standard Process products for 10 months, including Drenemin for a large part of that, all in hopes of healing my adrenals. After 10 months, there was no improvement, so I finally switched from my nutritionist to a naturopathic doctor. My doctor told me Standard Process products have quality ingredients, but they lack the amount key ingredients to make them potent enough to do any good. (She gave me an example of the Tuna Omega product I was on . . . I'd have to take 20 pills to get the standard recommended daily amount.) She said if I anyone had any success with Standard Process, her only explanation would be the placebo effect. That's her opinion anyway, and I certainly didn't see any improvement. However, I didn't know at the time I had candida either, which my nutritionist didn't think I had, but my doctor discovered.
Sobeman88 . . . you have gotten a TON of advice here, which must be sending your head whirling. I feel for you and your quest for relief. I am not going to suggest treatments of any kind, but I have two thing to say.
First, go see that doctor sooner than later. Hopefully he/she is a good one and can get to the bottom of your problems. By the way, is this doctor an ND? (Naturopathic). You would probably be wasting your time and money with a conventional MD.
Second, are you still living in that mold infested bedroom? You didn't make that clear. If so, that seems like a very high priority if you ever want to be well.
I think it's great that you are taking an active role in your health, doing your research and trying various natural treatments. At this point, it certainly seems that you need some guidance from a doctor. I do believe, however, that you should continue to be active in understanding everything that you can and work "with" your doctor to achieve optimal health. I feel like I wasted 10 months with my nutritionist (not that there aren't highly skilled and helpful nutritionists out there), yet it wasn't until I switched to someone else (who happened to be an ND), that I found some real answers. She confirmed adrenal fatigue, but did tests and discovered low thyroid, low hormones and candida. I'll never be free of adrenal fatigue if I don't cure the candida.
However, on that note, I also feel like she could have given me more information about the candida, which I am finding here and other places. For instance, from my own research, I feel that I really need to work on better elimination and have researched ways to do that. I also have come to find other things that will hopefully speed my recovery along, instead of simply relying on my doctor's diet list and supplements.
So, my point being, I recommend you see a doctor, but continue play an active role in your own health. Don't do anything to undermine your doctor, though, or anything that would make his or her treatment futile (like taking a supplement that counteracts and negates a supplement they have you on). You may need to try more than one doctor to find the right fit, too.
I wish you well and pray you find answers to your problems.
