I think it is great that you have a sopportive dermatologist that you respect and who respects you and your condition. I think it makes sense to take the oral meds as prescribed to see if it helps. I am definitely skeptical of the anti-candida diet, so I am glad you are not being steered in that direction.

I wonder if you would be comfortable asking how often one should lick there lips. I'd be interested in knowing. Maybe trying to train yourself to lick them an appropriate amount of time throughout the day would be be a nice step to try before going back to balms. If you do try balms for moisture, I definitely recommend you find a product that is all natural - no chemicals!
