Hello, again!
Yes, I've always known (through reading your posts to others) that the Plan doesn't focus on weight loss; that it's about reversing the effects of antibiotic use.
I just never had even the slightest inclination that I'd GAIN weight at the rapid pace I am from incorporating the Plan's elements: eating (only) healthy food, drinking an exorbitant amount of water, keeping the bowels moving (by recently using a new colon cleanser, I have a MINIMUM of 3 bm's now!), and sweating via sauna 6x/week.
The numbers on the scale aren't so important to me (although to see it climb each day does cause stress), but to take measurements and see the inches increase along with not being able to fit into clothing that were actually loose prior to the Plan..well, that's something I think most people would worry about.
You mentioned that excess fruit and/or liver function could be a factor in my weight gain and I'm pretty sure that's accurate! I'd been eating a lot of bananas each day and decided to cut out all sweet fruit to see if it would make a difference. Well, although I stayed away from the scale during that time, I felt a little "thinner". Then, last night I had bananas, again, and felt OK. I ate some this morning, as well, but ironically only a couple of hours after that I began feeling "fat" and an overall sense of heaviness. I stepped on the scale and Holy Cow! My weight had again shot up and for the life of me I couldn't wear my jeans I'd worn the day before because my legs were so "full"! Is this rapid reaction even possible?? We all know about food allergies (some more severe than others), but would this even fall into that category?
My health history isn't bad, but not great, either. I've never had anything major occur, so that's a plus. I have, like most Americans, had my fair share of antibiotics from childhood until a few years ago when I learned how horrible they are.
I've also been struggling for many years with a long list of candida symptoms; everything from gas and bloating to weight issues and major hormonal problems.
A few years ago I did the HCG diet protocol and my hormones have been shot ever since. I've struggled everyday for 4 years with pms symptoms (constant cramping, bloating, irritability) regardless of bleeding or not. How does this even happen??? I've been on this impending train wreck for all these years and can't believe I haven't gone totally insane! Most women complain about their symptoms for a few days each month, but I have them 24 hours a day, non-stop, year after year!!
I'd gotten a ParaGuard IUD (copper wire/non-hormone) 2 years ago and that only added fuel to the fire by causing an EXTRA menstrual cycle each month! So I was having 2 periods every month! But not wanting to take hormone-containing birth control, the ParaGuard has been my only choice, unfortunately.
My main issue (aside from this daily weight gain) is that I haven't had a cycle since January (although I still have all the symptoms). My ND gave me natural progesterone pills (he said the cream at the health stores don't contain enough progesterone), but they didn't cause me to start.
So to say I'm a hormonal mess would be an understatement. I'm scared of not having my periods and not knowing what would cause this. The ND was clueless, which made me feel worse. So now I feel I'm alone, trying to play doctor to myself, which isn't going to work.
I honestly don't know if the Plan will help with any of my problems, but I'm at a loss as to what else I can do.
I just want to start my period, fix my hormones, get rid of my candida, and get my vitality/energy back so I can move on to cleansing other areas (liver, etc).
Is there anything I should incorporate along with the Plan that may help start my cycle and get my hormones leveled out sooner? Or should I just rely on the Plan, alone, to do so?
I apologize for the lengthy message, but didn't want to leave out info that could be useful in making suggestions :)
Thank you for your ongoing help and kindness to all of us here. You are so greatly appreciated and admired!!!
Have a wonderful day...
Summer
