Well...maybe. But the true physics of electricity are much more complex than the traditional water analogies. It is not correct to think of physical electrons moving from the negative terminal of a battery to the positive terminal through a circuit or device or body. While this does indeed happen, it is not the important thing going on - especially when the circuit has alternating currents, frequencies, etc., rather than simple DC.

For example, consider a ceiling light and a wall mounted light switch. IF (Note big IF) the world used DC for house power as Edison wanted, then when you flip the switch electrons start moving toward the light. But depending on the wire gague and length, it might take 30 minutes for the first electron at the switch contact to reach the light bulb. There are only so many mobile electrons per copper (or whatever) molecule, and for one to bucket-brigade across the living room ceiling can take a while. That's not the same as the speed of the electromagnetic field in and around the wire. That's moving at around 7/10ths the speed of light (working from *old* memory here).
