As far as info on the web pertaining to the exoteric orders of the brotherhood, the G symbol represents God and or Geometry, keeping in mind a caveat that masons openly state masonry/freemasonry is not a religion. By nature, info/knowledge pertaining to the esoteric orders is intended to be kept hidden, but the general suggestion is that it is all about religion, specifically worship of Lucifer/Satan, and the symbol represents Gnosticism.

* of course your average exoteric brother may be as in the dark and dumbed down as your average person on the street and is therefore not in a position of knowledge but moreso in a postion to propagate the popular myth that esoteric ranks do not exist.
