I have candida and adrenal fatigue. Not as bad as you, from the sounds of it. I have known about my adrenal fatigue for over a year, but only recently learned about the candida. My doc is focusing on the candida, believing that curing that will help balance all my other hormones. (I also have hypothyroidism and low hormones across the board . . . except high cortisol at 4 a.m.)

I lean toward sticking with what you're doing. Let the candida continue to cleanse and rest as much as possible. If there is any way you can "not" go out of the country, that would be advisable. Getting as much sleep and relaxing down time is key to recovery, especially as intense as your adrenal fatigue sounds.

I cannot tell you what program to try, but it does seem that getting some sort of adrenal support would be important.

Someone mentioned licorice. My doctor gives me herbal tinctures with several herbs in them to balance my hormones. Licorice is one of them and I have read it is good for adrenals. Vitamin C is good, too. Eating every couple of hours, always including proteins.

I would avoid Standard Process supplements. I was on them for ten months before seeing my doctor, who told me they are not potent enough to do any good.

When I had my adrenal crash and started researching answers, I was so overwhelmed with all of the information and, like you, didn' know what to do. I finally decided to let a "professional" decide. Turns out the professional I chose wasn't very experienced and missed the candida, which is key to my recovery. I even asked her if she thought I might have it and she said no because I didn't have some of the common symptoms (bowel problems or vaginal yeast infections).

Once I switched to a naturopathic doctor, she diagnosed the candida, subclinical hypothyroidism and told me all my hormones were low. It has remained to be seen if her protocol is going to cure me. I'm still researching on my own and trying to figure out what I really should be doing, but going to her helped get me on the right track. You might consider going to an ND or nutritionist (with high recommendations) to help you navigate your next move. Your body has been through so much, and your symptoms sound so bad, I'm not sure I'd try to figure it out on my own. You might want to at least see what an ND has to say, maybe a couple of them for more than one opinion.

By the way, I have been wanting to get my metal filling replaced, knowing that could be a big factor in my recovery. I have been hesitant to bring it up to my husband because of the expense and knowing how skeptical he'll likely be. There is no money to do it right now, so I haven't bothered to mention it. Plus I need to gather my research to make sure I can fully explain the importance of it.

I asked my doctor if I should be tested for heavy metals and she thought it was a waste to test. If I have metal fillings, I have mercury poisoning and should get them removed.

Anyway, I think my biggest piece of advice to you, other than to consider seeing an ND or nutritionist, is to research all the basics of adrenal fatigue (which I'm guessing you already have) and do all of the things that you don't need a doctor to tell you. Like LOTS OF REST, and some of the things I mentioned above. Deep breathing exercises, stretching, relaxation techniques, etc.

I'm so excited you have progressed so far with your candida and food sensitivities. That is awesome. Don't be in too much of a hurry to cure the adrenals. Do what you can to speed it along, but it will likely take some time to recover.
