plastic surgery

I am going to see a plastic surgeon today I will let you know what he says, I am to the point where I can not function with this anymore. I have severe depression and anxiety and suicidal thoughts and I am seeing a Psychiatrist. My lips are different than some here I don't get yellow crusts at all, but they are bright red severly swollen and dry and peel constantly and I have to try to lubricate them constantly which doesn't help at all. I also have severe burning pain which I am taking Neurontin which helps a little bit. But I am having problems eating, sleeping, talking and basically functioning. I have had this for 1 1/2 years and for some reason it gets worse every day, I'm not sure why if it is an allergy or something. I have already been to 3 Plastic Surgeons because my Dermatologist referred me, the first one had no idea what I was talking about, the second one said she would do it but would basically have to cut my lips off and replace it with the inside of my mouth and said it is major surgery and she also said it is eczema similar to actinic cheilitis which they do surgery for she is making me take methotrexate before surgery which can take 3 months to work if it does anything at all which I kind of don't think it will, I have been on a strong dose of prednisone which did nothing and have tried absolutely everything and spent thousands of dollars, the guy that I'm going to today says he treats this and specializes in skin grafting, but I will have to see, not even sure if my insurance will cover this because surgery is considered investigational for eczema, they told me if it is bad and nothing helps they might cover surgery. Also people that said that they had a vermillionectomy and it cured them, I'm not so sure, the problem that we have is worse at the inside of the mouth where the lips meet, the vermillion is actually the outside of the lips where they meet your face, where most people's skin is normal there. I'm not sure what else to do, so I am pursuing this option even though it sounds horrible, they say it could help or I could have worse problems, but they do it for actinic cheilitis-cancer all the time.
