Re: distilled grain alcohol for tinctures

Hello fellow herbalists!

I would like to start selling some of my tinctures and am finding that using store brought organic vodka will simply not be sustainable for me!
VODKA IS THE OLD STANDARD ALCOHOL USED, SO EVERY BOOK WILL SUGGEST IT.

I know that many people who sell tinctures professionally use distilled grain alcohol,
ALL GRAIN ALCOHOL IS "DISTILLED" AS IS ALL ALCOHOL STRONGER THAN 12%, ETC.

sometimes even diluted with water.
ALL ALCOHOL HAS SOME WATER CONTENT

I would like to start doing this, but I am having the hardest time figuring out how to get (organic or not) distilled grain alcohol in bulk.
YOU CAN BUY FROM YOUR LOCAL LIQUOR STORE AND PAY GOVERNMENT TAXATION, BEYOND THAT, YOU WOULD NEED A COMMERCIAL LICENSE WHICH IS BASICALLY OUT OF THE QUESTION UNLESS SUPER WEALTHY AND HAVE YOUR OWN FOOD BUSINESS, ETC...

Can anyone please help? Any advice would be MUCH appreciated!
YOUR LOCAL LIQUOR STORE
YOU HAVE TO DECIDE WHAT ALCOHOL YOU WANT TO USE.....SOME SUGGEST GRAPE ALCOHOL, WHICH IS EXPENSIVE AND NOT EASILY OBTAINED.
