Re: Tapeworm will not go away!

First of all most meds are broad spectrum and will generally kill some of the critters but not all, especially not the adults of others.

Some take meds as a process of elimination..and then they check the stools and see what all is dead..one can find other parasites they didn't know they had in the first place.


Niclosamide is the drug of choice for tapes for it is suppose to get the head of the tapeworm..it is generally followed by praz and albendazole to mop up/kill the remaining worms that have scattered and encysted...

Niclosamide is no longer sold in the US..so a Dr. cannot prescribe it to treat tapes..mebendazole is next to be unavail.
