Hi Rowan Morrison,
Your point is well taken but there are members who have lost weight & kept it off. I myself lost 12 pounds from 2 incomplete master cleanses & have only gained 2 pounds back in 8 months. Your comment that there would be no over weight people puzzles me as not everyone has master cleansed. I'm sure that if more people were aware of it's tremendous benefits then more people would successfully lose the excess weight & keep it off. Was I wrong in my statement that maintaining a healthy weight has much to do with optimal functioning of the liver, gall bladder, kidneys & thyroid? And that over time these internal organs can become clogged with toxins creating an imbalance in the body? Was Burrough's wrong when he said that The Master Cleanse is for weight reduction? If he was wrong does this mean he was a quack? Or was he simply lying to sell more books?
Did you read me suggesting that I sip hot cocoa, or take flax seed oil? I have not read that from any of the posts where members have spoken about mc & weight loss. I'm sorry that this has happened here as those suggestions do not seem logical, nor healthy. And I do not believe that most members would even consider such add ons when master cleansing.
However, many people here add, subtract & modify as they see fit. So are they still doing the Master Cleanse? One person prefers adding "oxy-whatever", or a P&B shake; are they still Master Cleansing? If someone adds a liver cleanse are they still Master Cleansing? What about if a member chooses to add colonics? Burroughs was against them. Does this mean that they are wrong in their preference for colonics over the swf, or laxative tea as per Burroughs? How about if someone does a parasite cleanse when master cleansing is that okay?
I'm convinced that the MC could be used successfully for drug addicts & it would be highly cost effective. This isn't in the book itself, nor have I read this idea on these boards, but I feel that it's a good one.
My husband's friends & children stayed with us over the weekend. I had no choice but to tell them that I was mc'ing because they'd be eating with us. Here they have both used the master cleanse. She was having difficulty conceiving & lost over 20 pounds using the mc & conceived their 1st child after 6 months of cleansing. Her husband was so impressed with her weight loss results & other health benefits that after reading that it will alleviate joint pain he did the cleanse as well. He still cleanses & this is 2 years since his first one. He no longer has corporal tunnel & says that his night vision is better.
This morning I had to get more limes & molasses. A woman asked me if I was master cleansing & I told her yes. She went on to tell me that master cleansing had cured her endometriosis, balanced her hormone levels, saved her gall bladder (which her doctor wanted to remove), she lost weight & it's increased her energy etc...etc...
You are right that I have not been here long. But this does not mean that I do not have anything intelligent, nor pertinent to contribute. Nor does it mean that I, or any other newbie deserve to be mistreated, or disrespected.
Take Care
